You would be forgiven for wanting to run for your life when you hear Odin’s thunderous and guttural bark that sounds more like a growl than a greeting.

But this one-and-a-half-year-old Black Labrador is a sweet dog, says Sivadass, who has been caring for Odin for quite some time now.

“Odin is full of life, excitable and always jumping all over you in happiness when he sees you,” says Sivadass.

“But people often worry when they hear him bark as it’s a deep, strong bark and almost sounds like a growl,” Sivadass says, adding that Odin only barks excessively when he feels ignored.

Odin lives with two other dogs, Cleo and Luke. However, while Odin gets along nicely with Cleo, fights sometimes break out between him and Luke when the quest to assert dominance peaks every so often.

Besides these little skirmishes, Odin lives a harmonious and contented life with Sivadass and his family.

“He loves to go out and runs all over the garden. He also loves water,” Sivadass says.

Odin eats a daily nutritious diet of home cooked chicken, carrots, pumpkin and rice. “Once in a while Odin is given some dog biscuits as treats,” Sivadass says, adding that Odin and his other canine companions are outdoor dogs who spend their days and nights running freely in the house compound.
