PETALING JAYA: Your regular cheeseburger looking a little sad lately? Well, why bother trying to work up an appetite to eat it when you can indulge in the new kid on the block – the California dipping burger, a cheeseburger that’s about to up your burger game.
And no, you don’t have to travel thousands of miles to California, you can enjoy this beefy goodness right in the comfort and safety of your own home.
Inspired by the city of Pasadena in California, home of the world’s first cheeseburger, Pasadena Burger caters to foodies who love the taste of the classic gourmet burger.
Pasadena Burger is a newly launched premium burger online delivery service where customers can have the option of ordering their ready-to-eat burgers or unleash their inner Gordon Ramsay with their Do-It-Yourself (DIY) meal kit options of two, four, six or eight burgers.
Your meal will then be delivered to your doorstep to be freshly cooked at home.
The uniqueness of this California dipping burger is that it comes along with three distinct and flavourful dipping sauces – Honey Cheese, Cajun Spicy Cheese and Habanero Southern Californian Cheese.
FMT were treated to the California dipping burger DIY kits to get a taste of these elusive sounding cheeseburgers.
The DIY kit came with four juicy looking high-grade Australian beef patties, four strips of American cheese, muffin-style buns, parmesan crisps, salt, pepper, a handful of lettuce, three large tubs of its delicious looking sauces and simple instructions explaining how to prepare the burgers.
The Australian beef patties were juicy, enough to satisfy any carnivorous cravings and the addition of the American cheese definitely amped up the meaty flavours.
However, the lack of vegetables aroused a mutual grunt of dissatisfaction amongst the team who wished for the addition of pickles and tomatoes.
The team agreed on one thing, all the three sauces were extremely delicious and it saved the burger from looking a bit bare.
The DIY kit was very generous with its sauces so leftovers were aplenty. However, it would have been better if the kit had also included a side of French fries or a simple salad to soak up the leftover sauce with.
The Habanero Southern Californian Cheese sauce was not too spicy so those who have a tender stomach will not have to worry.
Meanwhile, the Honey Cheese Sauce will definitely fulfil all your cheesy cravings and the Cajun Spicy Cheese sauce’s flavours were spot on.
Overall, the California dipping burger is a decent burger and will no doubt be a hit at a small party with friends and family at home, however, its price point of RM24.50 per burger will definitely raise a few eyebrows.
You’re also going to slip into a food coma after wolfing down this juicy burger dunked in its generous sauces – so you’ve been warned, people!
