PKR sacks Sabah women’s chief, issues warning to Tian Chua

Rahimah Majid has been sacked as Sabah PKR women’s chief while Tian Chua has been given a warning.

PETALING JAYA: PKR has sacked its Sabah women’s chief Rahimah Majid and issued a warning to vice-president Tian Chua, the party’s disciplinary board confirmed in a statement this morning.

This follows news of last night’s sacking of four others – women’s wing head Haniza Talha, Penang assemblymen Afif Bahardin and Zulkifli Ibrahim, and Penang women’s chief Nur Zarina Zakaria – whose dismissals the board also confirmed.

Their expulsions are believed to be linked to their relationships with politicians now aligned with the ruling Perikatan Nasional coalition.

Apart from Tian Chua, the board’s chairman Ahmad Kassim said the party had also issued a warning to Penang women’s communication director Carolyn Khor and Machap Jaya assemblyman Ginie Lim.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Raj Abdullah had his membership suspended for attacking Tian Chua earlier this year.

Tian Chua was attacked by an angry crowd of supporters while leaving PKR’s central leadership council meeting on March 1.

The former Batu MP had water bottles thrown at him and was also slapped.

Tan Chua, along with Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari, Afif and Port Klang assemblyman Azmizam Zaman Huri were also heckled while leaving PKR’s headquarters and rushing into their cars.

The group at that time was aligned with the party’s sacked deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali, who held a series of meetings with former opposition parties to form a new coalition.
